So far I’ve only shared posts about my intense (OK…Obsessive!) look at the Arthur G Dozier School for Boys, however, as many already know, I have other “Hobbies” that are just as unique! I’m excited to FINALLY share those on “Finding Florida!” Here’s what’s upcoming:

In the spring of 2015 I got involved with a project to research, locate & document cemeteries around Florida that are considered to be lost, abandoned & badly in need of preservation. 3 years & nearly 200 sites later, I’m still going strong & I’m ready to share what I’ve experienced with the world. I may NOT be able to talk about them all BUT my goal is to feature some of the more unique, creepy & of course, my faves!

As many white sand beaches as Florida has, we have that many more unsolved crimes. Each one deserves justice BUT there are always those cases that you hear about that stick with you forever. “FLORIDA JUSTICE” is my opportunity to discuss some of the ones that have continued to haunt me throughout the years.

GHOST TOWNS OF FLORIDA (posts on Wednesdays!)
Did you know that Florida has seen many towns come & go over the years? These “Ghost Towns” are spread throughout the Sunshine State & I’ve been lucky enough to find & explore some of them! Some are still visible, others are barely able to be seen & a lot are now just a page in the Archives BUT ALL have their own unique story & are equally important to Florida’s history.

TACKY TOURISM IN THE SUNSHINE STATE
I’m a total sucker for roadside attractions! The more obscure & tacky, the more excited I am to go…It’s like my own version of Disney! I’m also NOT the least bit afraid to admit that I have often shamelessly insisted (more like bribed OR dragged kicking & screaming!) that my family come along! What can I say, It’s ALL about the experience…And the coconuts turned into monkey pirate heads!

INVESTIGATING DOZIER
Of course I will NEVER let go of my Dozier project! It remains my number 1 priority! Since I’m constantly doing research (and planning trips!) I find new things related to the case & history almost daily! Whenever I have something to share, I’ll be sharing it with everyone!
